Tamarind Gravy

• 10 tamarind pods or 4 Tbs tamarind puree

• 1 Tbs tamari

• 1/2 tsp onion salt

• 1 tsp stock powder

• 1/2 cup water

Remove the tamarind from the pods, taking off the fibrous strands. Put the tamarind in a bowl and pour in enough boiling water to just cover the tamarind. Let this soak for 10 minutes then squish the tamarind with your fingertips removing all of the stones from the pulp and discarding. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix well. Heat in a pan on low until warmed through.
