Full Page and Back Cover Ads
The full page ad is, simply put, the best option for engaging readers with your message. It has ample design room for eye-catching graphics and text - showcase your product against a vivid background, include a column of text explaining its benefits, tell customers where to find the product on sale or encourage them to engage with you on social media - whatever your design ideas, the full page ad is the most effective way to show them off. We hear back from VHF readers all the time that this is the only magazine they read cover to cover, so get your message out in a way that all of them will see.
Upgrade your full page ad to the back cover and get your ad the most visibility possible. A back cover ad basically puts a full color 8.5 x 11 inch ad next to every check out counter in every natural food retailer and book store we are sold in, as well as thousands of coffee tables, libraries, and wellness centers. For the price, you simply can not get this level of exposure through any other medium. Back cover ads, given their impact on the overall design-look of the magazine, require special editorial approval, so send us your best artwork for this space!
The specs for an inside full page ad are 7.875" x 10.375". The back cover is slightly larger since binding doesn't take up any space on it, and measures 8.375" x 10.375" vertical banner.
Artwork should provide a 1/8" bleed area and a 1/4-1/2" margin for any text, to insure that text isn't clipped or too close to the edge if the ad is placed on the outside edge of a page. The resolution needs to be 300 dpi minimum, or it will not print well. The color scheme ideally needs to be CMYK - no Pantone colors will print. Also, no printer's marks, we do not need them and will just ave to remove them. You can upload your artwork now if its ready, and we will let you know if there are technical, design or editorial problems with your ad. Our website accepts PDF, JPG, PNG, TIF, EPS, and PSD formats.
Please also provide a URL for the ad to link to in the digital version of the magazine. It goes without saying of course, but VHF only promotes vegan products that are in line with the mission of the magazine.
