3 apples with sticks inserted (you may need to use a thin blade knife to get it started)raw-caramel-apples

Part 1, Caramel Sauce Coating:
1/3 cup dates
2 Tbsp melted coconut oil
2 tsp Cinnamon
2-3 Tbsp agave or maple syrup
Water, as needed

Thoroughly blend dates with coconut oil, cinnamon, sweetner and water to get a smooth, thick consistency. Taste and add more sweetener if you needed. Cover the apples completely with the “caramel”.

Part 2:, Chocolate Drizzle and Nuts
1/4 cup chopped peanuts and/or almonds
2-3 Tbsp cacao
2-3 Tbsp agave or maple syrup
2-3 Tbsp nut butter
3 Tbsp melted coconut oil

Mix the cacao, sweetener, nut butter and coconut oil until smooth. Taste to see if you want to add anything more. Drizzle over the apples. Roll coated apples in the chopped nuts until they stick to the outside.

Note: When making these for a party, make a few without nuts and make sure that nothing that touched the nuts touches these apples. Kids with nut allergies will be very grateful!
