FEATURED ARTICLE: Ever Want to Be A Superhero?

Ever Want to Be A Superhero?
By H.H. German

Ever since I was a kid, growing up in the streets of The Bronx, I’ve always wanted to be a superhero. Always hoping that one day my superpowers would take me high above the city sky, to seek out maladies and find just remedies. I would run home from school to read the latest issue of Spider-Man, my favorite comic book superhero, and jump right into other comic book titles, such as The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man, The X-Men, Batman and a long list of others. The action-packed, adventure-filled reading was endless.

As I got older, into my teens, I continued reading comic books, but I started gravitating towards rougher characters, who didn’t always follow the rules.  There’s something about the rogue approach I’ve always found palatable. Suitable. Marvel’s Wolverine, and perhaps to a more extreme extent, The Punisher, definitely fit the bill. So many hours I spent poring over those influential comic books.

Then there was college. I stopped reading comic books. I learned about the world. I learned about the things people do. “Good” and “bad” work quite differently in the real world. Sometimes the bad guy gets away, and the good guy gets arrested. The bad guy wins in the real word, too often. One thing I’ve always noticed about the bad guys I’ve come across is that they’re almost always bullies. They’re able to achieve their status by taking advantage of, and abusing, the kindness of others.

I like kind people. I don’t like bullies. So I decided to create Sigma Comics, because I believe in justice for all, and that includes animals. Every day around the world, animals are abused and killed in absurd numbers. Animal rights groups, which we do admire, go the protesting route, with their signs and organized marches, and such. Our approach is very different. Ours lead to more “colorful” outcomes. I’ll leave it at that for now, as this is a pre-launch article, and I invite you to stop what you’re doing right now and support this amazing project. You’ll feel good doing it, and you’ll be a part of something special. Just go to Sigmacomics.com and add your email address to “GET UPDATES!” on the top of the Website, or at the very bottom, and you’ll be updated when we do our Pre-Order Launch on Indiegogo. You’ll be able to see, and pre-order the first issue, as well as donate to our cause. If you love comic books, and you want to take a more active role in fighting animal abuse, Sigma Comics offers you a real Win-Win. Take it, and don’t look back.

And don’t forget your cape!
